Messrs Bishen Singh Mahendra Pal Singh (BSMPS) set its wings as an independent publisher and distributor of scientific books in the year 1957. Since its inception, BSMPS has been producing high-quality books in the domain of science and technology, with a special focus on plant sciences. So far, more than 1400 titles in plant sciences dealing with subjects as diverse as systematic botany, forestry, ecology, zoology, wildlife, ethnobotany, etc. have been published. These titles are categorized under classics, reprints, academic text/reference books, field guides and manuals, coffee table books, edited volumes, annals, conference proceedings, monographs, and memoirs. Most recently, BSMPS has added new subject-specific books ranging from social sciences to history, culture, and the environment. Besides self-publishing, BSMPS also co-publishes and collaborates with various NGOs, government departments, research institutes, and universities.
