Asystasia gangetica (L.) T. Anderson: A painting of Asystasia gangetica preserved in the Archives of Central National Herbarium, Botanical Survey of India, Howrah. Thomas Anderson, the then Superintendent of the Garden (1861-1869) and the author of the species got it painted by Lutchman Singh in the year 1863. The painting was based on a plant specimen collected from the Botanical Garden (Indian Botanic Garden, Shibpore, Howrah) in 1863
